The ACE is the culmination of over 35 years of research and practice conducted at The New England Center for Children (NECC). NECC is a private, nonprofit autism research and education center dedicated to our mission: to transform the lives of children with autism worldwide through education, research, and technology. Our vision is to be a global leader in the provision of effective, evidence-based educational services for the millions of underserved children with autism and their families.

Our commitment extends to creating a positive, professional environment for our staff so that they can work cooperatively toward achieving NECC's goals. NECC understands the difference its teachers and staff can make in the lives of children with autism and other related disorders. Because of this, NECC provides a unique opportunity for individuals to become highly-skilled and experienced teachers through its specialized professional development model.
We strive to be at the forefront of conducting and publishing research to further the understanding and treatment of autism and related disabilities, and will use only those methods that show results. Science is consistent in showing that early, intensive instruction using the methods of Applied Behavior Analysis helps children with autism learn and reach their maximum potential. For that reason, NECC has developed a wealth of curricula grounded in the principles of behavior analysis and compiled it in a web-based toolkit, the Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia (ACE). In use with all of our students, the ACE is extremely effective in teaching critical skills to a wide range of individuals with autism.
