Our Team

Our team of support personal are here for you, from initial implementation and training to full ACE® proficiency. The ACE® reflects the expertise our entire clinical and research teams here at The New England Center for Children. We have more than 100 BCBAs on staff, with 1100+ total staff serving more than 550 students with autism on site at our centers on a daily basis. We think it’s important that you choose a software partner who also has the clinical expertise to ensure your Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program has the tools it need to be as successful as possible.

    Kim Walter, MS, BCBA, LABA
    ACE Training and Implementation Specialist

    Kim joined NECC in 2007, as a teacher in the residential program, after graduating from Michigan State University. Kim held several positions within our residential program, gaining experience working with individuals aged 5-22 years of age in a variety of settings. In 2010, Kim earned her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University. Shortly after, Kim worked in Abu Dhabi for a year and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Upon returning to Boston, Kim began the Ph.D. program in ABA through Western New England University and is currently completing research toward her dissertation requirements, examining behavioral resurgence. In September of 2015, Kim joined the ACE department as a Training and Implementation Specialist. In this position, Kim provides initial ACE training and on-going support to our ACE clients located around the country. Kim enjoys attending and presenting at several regional and national conferences

    Alyssa Freeze, MSEd, BCBA, LABA
    ACE Specialist

    Alyssa Freeze joined The New England Center for Children in 2008. She earned her Master of Science degree in Education through Simmons College in 2011 with licensure in Severe Disabilities. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and currently serves as ACE Specialist. Developing curricula and helping clients in the ACE Department sparked Alyssa’s interest in software development, leading her to continue her education in Computer Science.

    Kelly McConnell, Ph.D., BCBA-D, LABA
    ACE Training and Implementation Specialist

    Kelly McConnell joined The New England Center for Children in 2005 after graduating from The University of Florida. She held many positions in the residential program before moving to the ACE department. She currently serves as an ACE Training and Implementation Specialist, providing initial training and on-going support to ACE clients around the country, as well as an adjunct professor of Applied Behavior Analysis at UMass Boston and Simmons College. Kelly also enjoys public speaking and has presented her work at several national and regional conferences. Her research interests include staff training, assessment and treatment of severe problem behavior, and increasing compliance with medical and dental procedures.

    Cara Lechleiter, MS, BCBA, LABA
    ACE Curriculum Specialist

    After graduating from Vassar College in 2008, Cara joined NECC as a teacher. Over the next four years, she taught across the residential, day, and home-based programs. Cara earned her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University in 2011. She joined the ACE Department in August 2012, where she currently oversees the Help Desk, and develops curricula. Cara is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and holds a teaching license in Severe Special Needs. She is also the director of the NECC Student Chorus.

    Maureen Cary, M.Ed., BCBA
    Assistant Director of Public School Services –New York Region

    Maureen Cary is Assistant Director of Public School Services –New York Region at NECC, is an Adjunct Lecturer at Hunter College. She brings 15 years of experience with children with ASD and challenging behavior to her work in the public schools, along with extensive experience in training, team building, and staff management.

    Connor Russo
    ACE Development Assistant

    Connor joined The New England Center for Children in 2013 after graduating from The Pennsylvania State University. He began as a teacher in the residential program, and worked across multiple departments at NECC prior to officially joining the ACE Department in January 2015. As a member of the ACE Department, he fields Help Desk requests and helps to test and improve the new ACE 4.0 system. His work at NECC and with the ACE team has inspired him to continue his education and pursue his Master of Arts in School Counseling at Boston College.
